From the village pond we head up the lane past the church and turn up the bridleway known as the Sugar Way.
We then continue between fields, past Four Barrows and up to the top of Sugar Hill. We continue along the Ridgeway trail up to the northeast slope of Liddington Hill. We pass through Upham Farm, through what was the medieval village of Snap and return along a footpath for 1/2 mile that runs beside the B4192. The terrain is undulating downland tracks with good views, weather permitting.
