Overview

The walk starts with the ascent of Walkers Hill, giving good views of the Pewsey Vale and the Downs. The route goes west, passing above Alton Barnes White Horse and then on to Milk Hill. On reaching the Wansdyke we soon turn off, to descend along a grassy track. We cross a road and head towards Stanton St. Bernard, pass the church and riding stables, to reach the K&A Canal. We follow the towpath passing the Barge Inn, Honeystreet. A short section of road walking leads to the village of Alton Barnes, before ascending a track back to the start. One refreshment stop.
