Meet on The Reynold’s Playing Field, Roman Road, Aldington (opposite the Walnut Tree pub). Please park considerately on nearby roads – not in the pub or Village Hall car parks.
This circular walk will leave the village towards St Martin’s Church, then via Ruffins Hill to join the Saxon Shore Way. We’ll continue via Postling Green overlooking Romney Marsh with views across The English Channel before descending the slope to join the Royal Military Canal Path which we’ll follow to St Rumwold’s Church, Bonnington and then climb gradually back to Aldington.
Most of this route crosses pasture land so we will encounter livestock in several places. There are some stiles. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but the stiles may not be dog-friendly so you may have to lift your dog over them.
Expected finish time is around 14.00.
Refreshments are available at the end of the walk at The Walnut Tree pub or at the Quarry House Tea Room.
