Elham
This walk starts from The Square, Elham by the entrance to St Mary’s Church.
There is some free car parking in The Square – alternatively, park considerately on nearby roads.
Elham is served by the number 17 bus from Canterbury and Folkestone and the start point is close to the Rose and Crown stop in the village.
We will climb out of the Elham Valley via the Memorial Gate to Margaret Lubbock and Les Preston we’ll then head South along quiet lanes and paths to Tan Barn before taking the Bridleway to Great Shuttlesfield Farm and North Lyminge. Our return route will follow the Elham Valley Way back to Elham. After our initial climb, our route will be mostly flat or downhill.
There will be some stiles and there will be livestock along the route. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but the stiles may not be dog-friendly.
Expected return to Elham is around 13.00.
There are toilets in Elham and there will be refreshment opportunities at the Elham Tea House or The Kings Arms at the end of the walk. The Tea House may also be open before we start.
