Overview

We have been featuring different sections of Isaac's Tea Trail in our walks this year. If you attended our Hexham Ramblers' talk on Isaac's Tea Trail in October, you can enjoy one of our favourite walks in Allendale and a chance to do another section of the Trail.

The route follows the Trail past the site of the Allen Smelt Mill and along the East Allen to climb to Keenley Chapel.  From here we contour around through Monk Wood on the Trail to pick up a bridleway across Dryburn Moor to the Allendale Chimneys. We follow the chimney flues partly down towards the smelt mill before crossing to Bridge End and into Allendale.
