The walk is in two parts.
The first part is a short walk in the Meadow Park area of East Leake. We will meet outside East Leake Village Hall at 10.30, and walk west along Kingston Brook. After crossing the brook, we loop back through the northwest part of East Leake and return to the Village Hall. This walk is 2 miles long, with about 50 feet of total ascent. Although the terrain is flat, it will probably be muddy and slippery.
The second part will start from the Village Hall sometime between 11.15 and 11.30. Mike Saunders from the East Leake History Society will take us on a guided tour of some of the highlights of East Leake's long history. The tour will take about 1 hour 15 minutes, covering a distance of about 1 mile.
Note that there will not be a coffee break on this walk - refreshments are available in the Village Hall before the walk.
We will finish the second part at about 12.45, ready for lunch in East Leake Village Hall.
