Join us for a walk featuring haunted ruins, filming locations from a classic British film, and the oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain. Starting at Saltaire train station, we will walk alongside sections of the River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal before walking along the bottom of Shipley Glen. Then we will take a steep ascent up to the top of Baildon Moor. Next we will make our way through a mixture of moorland and narrow country lanes towards Gill Beck before taking another steep ascent up into Baildon town centre. The final stretch then heads through Baildon Green towards the top of Shipley Glen Tramway before heading back down into Saltaire for drinks and refreshments.
Spaces for this walk are limited. If you would like to attend please email philrobertson29@gmail.com.
There will be very few flat parts on this route.
There is the option to ride the tramway if we make it before it closes. A single ride costs £1.50 (cash not accepted).
