This walk includes a nature reserve and lake with Japanese pavilion below the gardens and park of Nymans (National Trust), the churchyard of St Mary's Parish Church in Slaugham (pronounced Slaffam) with a 600 year old yew tree, the ruins of Slaugham Manor, a walk down to the River Ouse and fields and woods beyond leading back to Balcombe.
This walk is not dog friendly as we pass through two fields with sheep.
There are toilets in Nymans car park en route.
We will stop in Slaugham for lunch where there is a village green and the churchyard for a picnic. There is a pub, but there is no guarantee that it will be open, as its opening hours are short and infrequent. Please bring a packed lunch.
Finishing time 5pm.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as the weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
