A pleasant brisk and undulating, circular rural walk in the Chilterns taking in part of the Chiltern Link walk and Asheridge, with a variety of farmland and woodland tracks (with possible muddy sections). Weather permitting we will build in a couple of short stops for anyone wanting to capture the autumnal scene in pen, pencil or more colourful medium. Just come with an open mind, bring a small notebook and give it a go.
Bring a picnic lunch to eat in front of The Blue Ball pub in Asheridge, when there will be time to have a drink only. There are toilets at Chesham Station as well as at the pub.
There are some stiles and some fairly steep but short ups and downs.
We will end in a pub close to the station in Chesham for anyone wanting to discuss their day's artistic journey!
Travel: Take the Metropolitan Line train scheduled to arrive at Chesham at 10.48. Example departure times are 09.40 from Farringdon and 09.55 from Finchley Road. Please check for any changes to the timetable as trains are only half hourly. The walk will not leave before the due train arrives but time will not permit late comers to join easily.
No dogs please as there may be livestock en route.
No booking required. Just turn up.
The finishing time is an estimate only based on typical brisk walking speeds and will depend on a number of factors on the day.
