Overview

From the Castle follow Sandstone Trail to Moathouse Farm and along Trail through wood to Higher Burwardsley. Past Willow Hill and Burwardsley Hill to Bodnook Wood. Up to Raw Head trig point and down through Tower Wood. Cross Salter’s Lane and over Bickerton Hill and into Bickerton. Through fields at Goldford Farm and through fields to Gallantry Bank. Cross Sandy Lane and up to Bulkeley Hill, and Peckforton Hills. Down through field to follow lanes and Sandstone Trail back to Beeston Castle.

Sorry no dogs as livestock in fields.

Some sections on quiet lanes.

Very short section on busy A534 due to inaccessible public footpath.

Some sections through woods have high steep steps.
