Walking at a brisk pace through Charlton Park, Maryon Wilson Park and Maryon Park on parts of the Green Chain walk. We then walk alongside the Thames from the Thames Barrier to Greenwich where we will circumnavigate Greenwich Park.
A walk of downsides and up sides. The downside is mileage, it’s only 7 miles. The upside; no mud, steeped in history, a couple of steep hills, time to spend relaxing in Greenwich where there are pubs, cafes, a market and the Maritime museum. You could even finish the walk taking a boat back to central London.
There are no toilets at Charlton station
Multiple drop out points
Travel: Take the 10.53 from Cannon Street or the 10.57 from London Bridge arriving at Charlton at 11.14.
We will finish at Greenwich pier. From there you can take the DLR, walk 5 minutes to Greenwich station or get a boat.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as weather, the speed that the group walks and the number of stops we take.
