The walk starts at Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the Canary Wharf DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line) and we meet just outside the main exit, in Jubilee Plaza (I’ll stand next to the large 3D “Canary Wharf” sign). There are toilets in the shopping mall next to the station (at same level as ticket barriers), which are usually open. Please use them before joining the walk. More toilets should be available, at the finish.
We will walk down to the river, at Canary Wharf Pier, and then use the Thames Path (and some roads), through Limehouse and Wapping, to Tower Bridge. From there we’ll walk alongside the river to Westminster station. There are many interesting sights, along the way, and I’ll share some information about the ones I know.
Lunch (30 minutes) will be taken somewhere along the Thames Path, so please bring a packed lunch (I’ll aim for sometime between 12 and 1pm, for lunch).
There are numerous potential drop out points along the way, with regular bus services close to the path, and train/tube/DLR stations not too far from the path. All within the Oyster/Freedom Pass area.
Travel: Make your way to Canary Wharf Jubilee Line Station (a few minutes walk from the Canary Wharf DLR and Elizabeth Line stations, if you prefer them to the Jubilee Line).
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
