We are the Pocklington Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk is a circular walk starting from Whitwell on the Hill led by Jack Hutchinson. The length of the walk is about 11 miles with about 900 feet of ascent, mostly before lunch.There will inevitably be some wet and muddy conditions but a fair amount of good,solid tracks. The walk starts by going north through fields and woodland to Bulmer after which there is a descent to the ponds at Mowthorpe followed by a long, steady climb to Brandrith Farm. A half mile of road brings us to Brandrith Woods and the lunch spot after about 6 miles. The return to Whitwell is mostly easy walking via the Castle Howard Estate,the King Oak and Welburn.
No dogs except registered assistance dogs with he consent of the leader.
