Overview

This walk will be led by Ged Leach.

Starting from Warter Village Car park this is a circular walk via Great Dugdale,Wold Rangers Way and Lavender Dale. The picturesque village of Warter founded by the Augustinian Priory in the 12th century is now more famous for the less ecclesiastical pursuit of pheasant shooting on the Warter Estate. We walk past the village pond and down the road to Great Dugdale and onto the road near Farberry Garth Farm before looping northwards across fields to where the path joins the Minster Way heading towards North Dalton. Following this for about 800 metres we then head north eventually joining the Wold Rangers Way and then turning west to rejoin the Minster Way near Huggate, following it southwards before turning off into Lavender Dale and then returning to Warter.
