We are the West London Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk has hills and will be at a brisk pace.
This walk starts with a climb onto Farthing Downs and continues across Happy Valley in order to see the internationally renowned 12thC doom mural in Chaldon church. Then to Coulsdon Common and a picnic or The Fox for lunch after 6.5km.
The afternoon crosses Coulsdon and Kenley Commons, this time going around the side of Kenley airfield. Then through woodland to Kenley before crossing the valley and one last climb onto Riddlesdown followed by a level stretch through the Sanderstead to Whyteleafe Countryside Area, where you can look back across the valley to your earlier route.
Get the 10.08 Reigate train from London Victoria, arriving Coulsdon South at 10.35. The stations are all in zone 6.
