Overview

This 12 mile moderate walk follows the River Dane using some of the Dane Valley Way, the Gritstone Trail and the Staffordshire Way towards The Cloud, returning through Bosley, along the dam at Bosley reservoir, and past Hawkslee and Nettlebeds.

The route: Danebridge - Snipe - Gig Hall - Dane Valley Way and Gritstone Trail, Ravensclough - Cloud Side - The Cloud - Lymford Farm - Bosley - Bosley Reservoir - Highfield House - Stilesmeadow Farm - Hawkslee - Nettlebeds - Wincle Grange - Danebridge.

This is a mixture of paths, tracks, bridleways, and lanes and includes some steeper sections.

Bring lunch, refreshments, plenty of water and sunscreen. Poles recommended, if you use them.

No dogs.
