A varied walk of fields and forests, with views from and up to the Greensand Ridge, with some interesting houses thrown in.
We will leave Dryhill Nature Reserve and walk across the fields to Sundridge church with views to the North Downs before turning South through Willow Wood and Hyde's Forest to Goathurst Common.
The route then takes us past a fabulous view across Bough Beech Reservoir to the High Weald and beyond as we approach Hatchlands Farm through open fields before entering Bowzell Wood on our way to our picnic lunch at Sevenoaks Weald. Optional refreshment choices are available at the Windmill and, if open, the community cafe.
After lunch we will walk across to the impressive Wickhurst Manor before starting our climb up Bailey's Hill looking back from time to time at the view behind and forward at some of the desirable residences before we enter the Montreal Estate and gradually descend well tended paths towards the interesting old farmhouses and mill at Dryhill, detouring only into Great Britain's Wood to avoid a rat run road, as we approach our start point.
Being winter, there will be muddy sections of the route, though we will attempt to minimise these. There is also some ascent (1600 feet in total)
No toilets at the beginning or until we reach Sevenoaks Weald after 7.5 miles.
