Overview

This is the 1st m/w walk in which I celebrate my late wife's birthday rather than my own birthday.

Route: Start from car park by the Fernilee Dam - Cross the dam turn left along Fernilee Res. to the Erwood dam - along Erwood Res. - carry on to packhorse bridge and up Goyt's Clough - Burbage Edge - Beet Wood - Watford Farm - Longhill Farm - Rake End - White Hall - Old Road - Overhill Farm and back to the cars. I hope you will find this a bit different to most Goyt Valley walks with some rarely used paths.

Take A 5004 from Whaley Bridge towards Buxton and after the hamlet of Fernilee you pass a house on the left then a farm track also on left then look for a road on the right leading down to the Reservoir, (not signed except a red notice warning speed bumps). Take this down to the Dam and park.
