Overview

After leaving the church, we use the towpath to reach Crofton Beam Engines.  After crossing the canal we take a section of Roman road and head up into the parkland of Tottenham House and the Savernake forest.  After visiting St Katharine’s, we return across sections of Bedwyn Common and Chisbury Wood, back to Great Bedwyn.

Expect stiles and some mud. Chalk can be very slippery when wet.  Sticks may be useful and there may be livestock enroute.

Please bring a snack and a drink.  We will be back for lunch
