Leaving Guildford via the Castle, we will visit Pewley and Merrow downs enjoying good view south and then north before going into the woods of Walnut Bottom. Newlands Corner is a splendid viewpoint with loos and a kiosk for drinks where we will have a lunch stop. We then walk on the North Downs way along the route towards St Marthas Church where we will stop to enjoy this excellent view point. On the way back to Guildford we visit The Chantries, a delightful wood. We pick up the River Wey to get us into back into Guildford.
A mixture of a small amount of urban walking, and footpaths across the downs and through woods, with a tow path at the end. Expect quite a bit of mud so poles may be an advantage.
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
