This walk is in the Yorkshire area of the Peak District. It begins in the Nature Reserve woodlands above the Rivelin valley on good forest tracks, then opens out onto Hallam moor with extensive views to the west. After visiting the Head Stone we turn south to the Redmires reservoirs, and follow the paths around them. We walk alongside woodlands and past the Three Merry Lads pub before a steep descent through woods to Rivelin Dam.
The final section of the day is a walk up along the beautiful Wyming Brook on rocky paths and wooden bridges accompanied by the sounds of the river as it flows down into the valley.
Strong footwear is recommended, and poles are a good help on the steep downhill section.
You will need food and drinks for a coffee break and a lunch break .

From Chapelgate turn left just before the Olde Sun Inn into the car park.
From Owler Bar take the road towards Fox House and turn right onto A625, then right again onto A6187. Turn left onto Sheephill road to Ringinglow. Go left and immediately right onto Fulwood road. Follow satnav, at T junction on Redmires road turn left and car park is soon on the right.
