This beautiful walk starts and ends in the pretty Peak District village of Hartington. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and shops for refreshments and a great Cheese Shop! The route takes you beside the sparkling River Dove through some of the finest lime stone dales in the area, including Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale and Biggin Dale, before returning to the village on quiet country lanes with far-reaching views over the surrounding hills.
Mainly over fields, reasonable paths and lanes, however part of the path is lime stone which could be a little tricky if it is wet – so I would recommend poles.
We will stop for coffee/snack half way. There are public toilets at the beginning of the walk. No dogs please.
