Overview

A leisurely walk through woods and farmland south of Haydon Bridge.

Climbing up through Gees Wood we reach a bridleway which takes us west towards Lambley Castle with expansive views across the Tyne valley. Returning to Haydon Bridge along the River Tyne Trail the Oddfellows cafe awaits with refreshments.

Please meet by the old bridge opposite the Co-op on Ratcliffe Road/end of Church Street. Please park courteously throughout the village. Car sharing is advised. We try to offer an informal share from Hexham - please contact the walk leader if you are interested (driver or passenger). Public toilets are located across the old bridge from the meeting point.
