Overview

This walk starts on Glyndwr’s Way along the base of Gallt yr Ancr (the anchorite’s hill) and we leave the trail for a short climb up to its lower summit which has excellent views of the Vyrnwy valley. We then head west through fields and woods around Rhos-y-Glascoed and then return to Meifod along the edge of Allt Fawr wood. This is not a well-walked area so expect undergrowth, tree roots, fallen branches and muddy tracks. Great views hopefully and attractive, quiet countryside. Please bring provisions for coffee and lunch stops.
