West Mendip Walkers moderate to strenuous 12 mile walk from Holford. Leaving Holford Bowling Green the route climbs up to Halsway Post via Hodder's Combe and Somerton Combe.
Here we will turn north along a track in the direction of Bicknoller Post. Shortly before the post we fork left and descend through Bicknoller Combe to the Coleridge Way. Then a short road section through West Quantockhead. We then follow the Coleridge Way around the base of the Quantock Hills back to the start point. This walk has some steep climbs. At this time of year there is no issue with dogs running free on open access land. There might be time for a coffee stop at the Windmill Inn St Audries and a visit to The Plough in Holford after the walk.
