Overview

This walk with 1218 ft of ascent / descent traverses three distinct valleys. Starting with a walk up Fawdon Dean valley we pass Weather Hill with its Iron Age settlements. We then cross into Fawdon Burn valley, where you will see the circular earth ramparts of Fawdon Hill Iron Age settlement, and the remains of Gibbs Hill fort and Castle Knowe fort. We then drop down to the small hamlet of Branton before climbing East Hill and walking back along Ingram Valley to the car park.

The Ingram Valley Visitor centre is open for post walk refreshments.
