Overview

Our walk initially follows a path but then uses about 1 mile of minor roads before reaching open access land and for 2 miles taking a moorland track which is heathery and muddy in places.  Views are extensive towards the east. We turn to follow clear tracks over the limestone Eglwyseg ridge at about 1400 ft where views open out deep into Wales. We conclude by tracking near the edge of the rocky escarpment for a while and then descend to the Panorama Walk to finish.

Please note the latest start point and parking arrangements.

Bring refreshments for coffee and lunch stops.

The walk starts at a small car park at SJ 24709 42811 some 100m on your right after the cattle grid on Panorama Walk. accessed by a steep road through Garth off the A539 at Trevor. This location is at a junction of rights of way on the OS map with a path coming up through the forest from Trevor. It is not to be confused with other parking spots further along Panorama Walk. The car park here is currently muddy, puddled and pot-holed and has limited space. As advised you may need to park around the corner at SJ24846 42895 where there is space at the side of the road. Regardless of this, please walk to the start as we all obviously need to be in the same place to begin.
