A circular walk in beautiful countryside encompassing 3 long distance footpaths: Offa’s dyke path, the Ceiriog trail and the Maelor way.
There are spectacular views in many places. 5.7 miles, moderate, with some steep uphill and downhill sections, on permissive paths, footpaths and country lanes. There are 8 stiles, some livestock, and uneven ground and fallen trees to negotiate. Walking poles are highly recommended. Near the end of the walk we cross Chirk Aqueduct which, though safe with a good guard fence, is high above the ground. 2 stops, for coffee (with a spectacular view) and lunch. Please bring with you. At the end of the walk there will be the opportunity to purchase ice creams or drinks from the Chirk Castle café. There is also a shop and toilets.
