Overview

The penultimate stage of our London to Brighton walk begins with a couple of miles of suburban roads and paths, merging into woodland and farmland. The views finally open out on the approach to Ditchling and then follow an old Roman road to the outskirts of Hassocks. Expect mud and stiles.

Please bring a picnic lunch and plenty to drink. A brief picnic lunch stop before making a slight detour from the route to make a visit to the Cock Inn for a drink and toilets.

Buy a return to Hassocks. Train from Victoria 9.46 (Clapham Junction 10.04) arrives 10.32, or London Bridge 9.45 (East Croydon 10.04) arrives 10.29, Please check rail timetable in case of changes.

No dogs.
