Overview

A moderate walk from Forden with two steady ascents (not too steep) through woodlands up to the Beacon Ring on the top of Long Mountain where we'll have lunch. It's all downhill from there - honestly! The path follows Offas Dyke for long sections. Amazing views across the Welsh hills to the West. Through the Leighton Estate which has several pools used in association with water turbines which powered a funicular railway on the Victorian estate amongst other things. Leighton Hall is where the 'infamous' Leylandii hedging was bred in 1888! Hardly any stiles, mainly kissing gates. Zone C
