Overview

An excellent walk on the North Yorks Moors from this popular location. We head southwest across meadows to Thwaites House and Staindale then up onto the moor to Barkers Craggs passing Brian's Pond on the way. Pausing to admire the view down into Scugdale we make our way on tracks to Raisdale Mill and a climb to a quiet road where we walk north to Cold Moor Cote and on to join the Cleveland Way. Avoiding the challenge of climbing the many steps of Kirby Bank we will take the lower path back to Lordstones and the cafe. Excellent views on a clear day.
