Waypoints: St Peter's Square, John Dalton Street,  Bridge Street, River Irwell, Manchester Ship Canal, Trafford Road Bridge, Bridgewater Canal, Castlefield, Rochdale Canal and St Peter's Square.

Extra: No toilet at walk start. No dogs except assistance dogs

This is a gentle, flat walk along the river Irwell where you find a mix of modern and old landmarks towards Salford Quays. There will be a light lunch stop at the point where the river meets the Manchester Ship Canal at Trafford Road Bridge, then the way back to St Peter's Square is along the Bridgewater Canal  via Castlefield and Rochdale Canal.  

Bring a light packed lunch and water.  Walking boots and clothes (waterproof anorak in wet weather conditions) are essential
