This is the same route that I lead last year. We head up Pateley Bridge high street and climb the steps onto the Nidderdale way up Ripley Bank. We then head towards Scot Gate Ash quarries and along towards the village of Wath. From there we cross the road and head up a steep embankment, towards Heathfield and down another small hill to meet the Nidderdale way again at the caravan site. Carrying on we then we then will come to more leadmines where we will stop for lunch. We then carry on along the tracks towards Pateley Bridge. Lovely views on a clear day.
This walk is along good tracks, some fields (probably muddy) and quiet country roads (however there may still be some traffic). There will be some stiles to go over and two roads to cross (low Wath road) and also the main road in Pateley Bridge from the car park (zebra crossing) B6165.
There are many refreshments options after the walk.
No dogs please due to lambing time. Please bring a packed lunch, water and waterproofs.
