This is a beautiful walk with fantastic views across undulating hills and open countryside. We leave Preston and join the oddly named Deadwoman's Lane towards Ley Green. From there, after stopping briefly at a scenic bench to take in the wonderful views, we head southwest to the Chiltern Hills and Breachwood Green. Turning northeast from there we walk through Watkins Wood before pausing at another bench with scenic views! Then onto historic King's Walden where we can enjoy a short break at St Mary's church before starting back through the deer park and onto Preston.
The terrain is mostly made up paths but we do have to cross a few fields which may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. There are also undulating hills and woodland paths.
There are no cafes en-route so please bring your own refreshments and something to sit on.
There are no public toilets on the way
The Red Lion in Preston, a community owned pub, states on its website that it is open 12.00 -14.30 on Wednesdays.
