Start from free car park at Quarry Bank Mill (meet by visitor centre) SJ835831 Time: 10am 11.5 miles moderate; very little ascent

This is a chance to walk in an area which long walks very seldom visit. It is mostly on good tracks and across fields without too much mud, but poles are recommended for some sections. Route: Towards Styal village and then along the North Cheshire Way towards the airport tunnels; Morley Green; Saltersley Hall Farm; Graveyard Farm; Lindow Common; Twinnies Bridge and back by the riverside to Quarry Bank.
