We are the Tavistock Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a walk taking in West Down and Plaster Down . Starting on the A386 near the Whitchurch turning we head up to West Down via Walreddon Manor and a short but beautiful stretch of the Walkham to Double Waters for coffee. From here we stay high over West Down to Horrobridge, crossing the A386 to climb behind The Leaping Salmon to head via ancient tracks and lanes towards Sampford Spiney but not reaching it as we turn to Plaster Down and return via Middlemoor to our start.
Park at large lay-by near Whitchurch turn off on the A386.
Walk is almost all on tracks and paths and a stretch through Horrabridge.
