Overview

Initially heading South along the banks of the River Usk we then head to Bettws Newydd and visit the church and its pre-reformation rood screen, followed by a climb to Coed y Bwnydd hill fort. The walk concludes with a gentle descent to Clytha Castle and the car park. The second half of the walk offers panoramic views to the North and West  including the Abergavenny Three Peaks Sections of the route are on very quiet tarmacked lanes.

National Trust Car Park, near Clytha Castle. Postcode takes you to the gates to Clytha House on the Abergavenny to Raglan road. Take turning to Bettws Newydd opposite the gates. Car park is about 250m on the right down an unsigned side-road.
