Overview

Idle Valley nature reserve is a good place to walk with extensive water areas, bird hides and the lovely river Idle, which we follow for most of this walk.
From our cars near Wetlands, we walk past Sutton Grange, and via Chainbridge and Cross Lane to reach Neatholme road. This takes us across the bridge, where we turn south to walk alongside the river to Chainbridge. Here we will have our coffee break.
We then walk the paths to the west of the river, through the woods by Tiln, and follow as the river meanders southwards, until we turn to the visitor centre for our lunch break.
A lovely walk through the nature reserve and by Bell Moor lake then takes us back to our cars.
