This linear walk takes in the beautiful Lochan an Uaine (the Green Loch) and Ryvoan Bothy. At just over nine miles, it is, for the most part, easy going on good paths with all the ascent at the start and then a long descent through the wonderful Abernethy Forest . We eventually arrive in the village of Nethy Bridge which (if time allows before our bus back) is worth a wander around and has a rather nice coffee shop.
We’ll take the bus to Glenmore for the start of the walk and then back to Aviemore from Nethy Bridge.
The walk starts at Glenmore Forest Park Visitor Centre which is a very short bus journey from Aviemore.
Please meet at 9.10am to catch the 9.22am bus to Glenmore.
The meeting point is the bus stop outside Aviemore Rail Station https://maps.app.goo.gl/ASqXfivxMrSuxvnx9
The buses back from Nethy Bridge are:
14.40, arriving Aviemore at 15.09 (this gives us around five hours to complete the walk) or
17.20, arriving Aviemore at 17.49
We’ll take a view as a group on which bus we're aiming to catch.
