Circular walk around the Yorkshire Dales market town of Settle. Following along part of the river Ribble and taking in the waterfall of Catrigg Force along the way. Some lovely views of the Yorkshire Dales all along the walk, including Pen Y Ghent, one of the famous Yorkshire three peaks. All before finishing up in Settle again with plenty of pub and café options.
The walk starts directly outside Settle train station. Walk distance is about 8.5 miles, has an ascent of about 450m, and should take between 3.5 and 4.5 hours. One or two steep sections are to be expected.
Settle has regular train services from Leeds and Bradford. The 09:19am service from Leeds arrives into Settle at 10:20am.
For those driving, there are plenty of pay and display car parks around Settle.
There are toilet facilities at Settle train station, and are also some public conveniences about halfway around.
Unfortunately dogs are not permitted due to the presence of livestock.
