From Shipbourne Common, the walk goes by Mount Pleasant and through the Oxen Hoath Park to the green at West Peckham for lunch. About 5.2 miles and 200 feet of ascent.
In the afternoon, we go up to Gover Hill for the superb view to the west and then on through orchards to Dunk's Green. From there it's across the Fairlawne estate and back to Shipbourne. About 5 miles and 300 feet of ascent.
Lunch will be either a picnic on the green at West Peckham or at the excellent Swan On The Green pub.
The Swan now asks for a £5 per person deposit for groups of over 6 people so we will not have a booking. The pub never seems to be too busy on weekdays and, like most pubs, most people seem to turn up at 1300h or later. We should arrive about 1230h and so will be there well before then.
