Overview

After meeting outside St Mary's Church, we head east, climbing gently toward Broken Green, where we turn east south east to walk behind a row of rather lovely houses in Wellpond Green. We then turn toward the south along some lovely, quiet country lanes before picking up the footpath through Ash Valley Golf Club. At the end of this path we hit upon the Golf Club where we have permission to stop for coffee/tea and cake.  From here we then turn north east, skirting the golf course, before turning to make our return journey. En route, we pass ancient woodlands and modern vineyards, and some fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.  As we descend back toward the Rib valley we pick up the old disused, railway line (St Margaret's to Buntingford)
