This is one of my favourite walks which has ancient tracks and monuments and hopefully Pasque Flowers.
Part of the walk will follow The Ickneild Way which is a ridgeway route that was used to connect East Anglia with Wessex and could date from 8000 BCE.
Therfield Heath is an SSSI due to the chalk grassland habitat and the specific grasses, flowers and insects associated with it. It has extensive views towards Cambridge.
The Pasque Flowers on Church Hill are one of the UK's largest colonies of this rare, beautiful plant. Known as Dane's Blood and the county flower of Hertfordshire they thrive on the undisturbed slopes of this spectacular site, requiring careful viewing to protect the plants and ground-nesting birds.
Therfield village has an impressive church and many impressive house.
The Heath Cafe will be available for pre and post walk refreshments.
This walk is not suitable for dogs.
