We are the East Hertfordshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

We will meet at Stevenage train station, then walk for just under a mile on pavements to reach the countryside at Norton Green. Crossing fields and through woodland we will walk towards Knebworth Country Park looking out for deer on the way, we will pass close to Knebworth House. From Old Knebworth we head to Mardley Heath nature reserve. There should be lots of bees and butterflies enjoying the wild flowers. We pass the edge of Woolmer Green, crossing a busy road to reach Harmergreen Wood. We then follow a foootpath through the woods back to Welwyn North station, to our cars or to catch the train back to Stevenage.
There is free on street parking close to the station in Welwyn North. The train from Welwyn North to Stevenage runs every 30 minutes and takes 8 minutes.
There are toilets and refreshments at Stevenage station and at Welwyn North station. We pass the Robin Hood and Little John pub at Rabley Heath, the half way point, if the group wants to stop for refreshment at this point..
Meet at the bottom of the stairs from the station, in the retail park.
