Train-based walk

Leader: Mary, meeting at Walk Start

Transport to Walk Start: 11:15 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination London Euston).

Meet Point:  Meet at Manchester Piccadilly train station, near the ticket barriers or on the platform. Alternatively, meet on the train or at the walk start at Stockport station ticket office.

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Return to Stockport £5.60.

Walk Start: Stockport Railway Station at 11:30.

Waypoints: Edgeley, River Mersey, Geoff Funnell Bridge, Cheadle Heath, Park View Road, Abney Hall Park, Cheadle Bridge, Heaton Mersey Vale, Burnage Rugby Football Club, Mersey Vale Nature Park, River Mersey.

Return Services: Trains to Manchester every few minutes

Extra: toilets at Piccadilly Station and at Stockport Train Station (for rail users only). Toilets en route at Abney Park (for cafe customers only). After the walk, those wishing to stay on for refreshments can join us at  Wetherspoons pub in Stockport (which offers lots of options, including non-alcoholic drinks, and where the food and is affordable.
