Overview
BOOKING REQUIRED. Starting at Pitchcombe Church car park, we go through the old village of Pitchcombe. From there we head up onto the Cotswold Way, following that to the Topograph, with on a clear day a view of the Forest of Dean, the River Severn and in the distance the Severn Bridge. Leaving the Topograph, we head for Haresfield Beacon, with even more extensive views, including of the range of hills that Offa's Dyke runs over. We continue to follow the Cotswold Way to lunch at the Edgemoor Inn. After lunch we continue along the Cotswold Way to Painswick, a small town that owes its glorious buildings to fortunes made from the wool trade. After visiting the Church , with its famous yew trees, we continue on back to Pitchcombe Church. Note hilly with 1600 feet of ascent. Bring snacks and drink, and picnic ilo pub.
