Meeting at Buchanan Bus Station Stance 4 at 9:15 am for the Stagecoach X27 bus to Kirkcaldy. We will get off at Kincardine to change to Stagecoach bus No 8 getting off at Culross Palace (Please note we will not be exploring Culross). The approximately 8 mile walk should start at 10:30 am and we expect to be in Limekilns by around 15:30 hours. Starting on the pier opposite Culross Palace we will follow a section of the Fife Coastal Path which in turn follows Sustrans Cycle Route 76. The walk is mostly on tarmac paths though if the tide is out there may be an opportunity to walk on beaches at Torryburn and Limekilns. There will be short sections of uphill or downhill paths (maximum 314 feet) and also some steps. There is a section through the woodland of Torry Bay Local Nature Reserve. On reaching Crombie Point we must divert onto local roads. The route is scenic but very noisy as we walk alongside a busy, main road through Crombie village. We will stop for a picnic lunch at picturesque Torryburn beach. Toilets are at Culross before we start and at Charlestown about 3/4 of a mile before we finish. We will return by the hourly Stagecoach No 6 to Dunfermline Bus station, then the next available half hourly Stagecoach X24 or X27 back to Buchanan Bus Station.
Note: The the start and finish time for the walk is are approximate.
