Overview

This walk is now full. If you wish to be added to the waiting list please contact the walk leader.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the above walk scheduled for 31st Aug ended up being from Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy.

In accordance with that, priority booking is given to those who were in attendance on that walk.

For those walkers who were booked on the walk previously, please do not get in touch with the Walk Leader until Monday 16th September.

For those walkers who were not booked on the walk previously and are hoping there will be some places or to be added to the waiting list please get in touch with the Walk Leader from Tuesday 17th September.

After alighting from the bus, we make our way up to the Glencoe Ski Resort where we can make use of the toilet facilities and have a coffee break. From there we head back downhill to join the West Highland Way heading south, picking up parts of the historic drover road crossing the expansive and exposed Rannoch Moor. In fine weather it’s a place of beauty but can be wild and forbidding in inclement weather. On the way to Inveroran we cross several bridges including Ba Bridge and Victoria Bridge.

Leaving Inveroran we head uphill and make a short detour to visit a cairn which offers superb views across Loch Tulla. From there we are walking mostly downhill on a zigzag path, Bridge of Orchy coming into view with the two mighty Munros  (Beinn Odhar and Beinn Dorain) backdropping the village. We should have time to spare before heading back to Glasgow on the 18:48 (914) bus.
