Overview

A walk following the Medway as it meanders to join the Thames estuary from the little village of Lower Upnor. The walk climbs through woodland and along the higher ground to Hoo St Werburgh giving commanding views of the estuary. We walk back along the shoreline which may be stony and slippery so boots and sticks useful.
