We are the East Hertfordshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting in the attractive village of Ardeley, we will walk to the west around Ardeley Bury before turning back to walk past Pigsfoot Springs to reach Moor Green and the old Roman road Back Lane before returning via Gardners End. A step back in time down ancient tracks, across village greens, through fields offering good views, and a not-for-profit community interest farm.
Church Farm in Ardeley is a not-for-profit farming, food, care and education farm. Its aim is to enhance the countryside, provide people with special needs opportunities, conserve wildlife and farm ecologically. The walk will take us through part of the farm towards the end of the walk. There is a farm shop and a cafe where refreshments can be purchased.
The end times of our walks are approximate. Our walks are relaxed affairs where weather, ground conditions, people we meet along the way, views, nature and wildlife can all affect the time a walk might take. So please bear this in mind when joining us on one of our walks.
Meet on Ardeley village green, opposite St Lawrence church. Park considerately along School Lane or in small lay-by in front of church.
